Does anyone here use procreate?

I can’t see myself owning an iPad at the moment, but to those that do- how would you compare it to other art programs?

I believe they’ve acknowledged work on a desktop version. I’d be interested in testing it on windows. Some of their brush textures are extremely realistic.

I’d love to hear all of your thoughts and criticisms.

Does anyone know or read heavy metal magazine?

It feels like it’s going through some kind of renaissance right now. The stories, covers and art features are all very provocative and thoughtful. If you ever wanted to jump into something new, now is definitely the moment.

The way the apartments shoot up from behind the forest always feels so surreal and dreamlike

Today’s a day I feel really content in my city.

I started off the night by doing a trip to the used book store a few blocks away. I found a copy of aliens:tribes, which I recommend to anyone who’s interested in sci-fi military/90’s traditional pop-culture art (or of course, the aliens themselves). The art is incredible. It’s been a long while since I’ve posted. Been facing a bit of burnout. I caught the tail-end of an art opportunity and got it done in time thankfully, but I really messed up my sleep and diet doing so. I’m actually on the steps of the gym right now because I was caught in the rain in my gym clothes before I could get inside, so I’m drying off and might have to head back home to not be disrespectful. The odyssey + obsession thoughts (and spoilers)

Haven’t had a chance to read or post on cyberspace for a while. I’ve also bought a novel i mean to read soon, but It’s cram time with art for a few days, so I’ve gotta take that really seriously.

The highlights for me were the f-22 raptor, the f-18 super hornet and a flying WWII P38-Lightning… plus there were static spitfire and Douglas a-4 skyhawk jets.

Staying objective and letting go are such important tools for artists.

In a professional setting sometimes superiors or clients make changes or criticism to your art and in the beginning it can be pretty discouraging or heartbreaking when it’s done. (Especially if your artwork can objectively become worse)

It sounds strange but sometimes it’s good practise to just throw out or delete your art when you’re done with it. Especially with studies. Sometimes you just have to ignore it.

I have to remember not to post on cyberspace or think about life after 1AM, some nights can be really quiet/restless and it can create so much unnecessary anxiety and overthinking.

Today I went to the zoo in another city, so I took a few photos specifically to share on cyberspace. Seeing all the critters being active and enjoying the sun cheered me up. I was splashed by a cape penguin!

A big part of buying vinyl and CDs has always been the interesting cover art (and inserts!). It draws in new people who maybe wouldn’t care otherwise. It was the most exciting aspect of the resurgence of vinyl for me personally. The same goes for discovering and owning movies in their various formats (and all their merchandise)

my favourite old master painter has always been Caravaggio. I think grounding the religious and mythic characters into something gritty and dark using the chiaroscuro method is something I’d really like to achieve someday… Maybe not his personal subject matter, but his mood, texture and lighting in particular. His people feel so real and grounded. I read he used beggars, prostitutes and peasants as reference to represent the characters which is really cool.
